[Week 0, Sunday post-execution: Ranpo]

[it's natural for one to want to get to know their "teammates" better, especially if they're supposed to be working with them to. . . murder-slash-Erase Players. . . over the next few weeks. Akira thinks he already has pretty good reads on Junko and Undine. Terra? He's still trying to figure that one out. and Ranpo?]

[Ranpo is still a mystery. but the kind of mystery that Akira finds himself drawn towards, for reasons even he can't explain]

[so. sometime after the execution, when Ranpo is alone and casually walking past a vending machine, one of his Reaper buddies is going to suddenly pop into view, seated atop said vending machine with his fingers pressed against his glasses. 'sup!!]

[ invisibility is such a useful psych but I didn't give it to ranpo because he would have been an absolute terror :/

but anyway! to his credit, if he's surprised, he's not going to show it super obviously. he's got a good poker face.

[Akira tips his glasses down further on his nose, studying Ranpo carefully. he doesn't move from the top of the vending machine as he continues the conversation]

The biggest advantage is that people don't know who we are yet, so. [ shrugs! ] That's something we can still work with. Once Host-kun starts telling people about how many of us there are, then I'll start to get a little worried.

[he actually pauses before answering that question, because. . . he thinks the response is complicated]

It wasn't a matter of "like" or "dislike."

[he didn't understand her. he couldn't understand her, even though he tried, the night before she was killed]

But I didn't agree with her approach to this game. And I think she's rotten for what she did to Utena and Maya.

[WELL, MAYBE GORO AKECHI??? but nah, his true canon point means he's mostly dealt with that. by punching Akechi in the face]

[he does stiffen a bit at Ranpo's words though, because he isn't the first Reaper to tell Akira this]

Erasing Players indiscriminately wasn't the job I signed up for, even if it's the one I'm being cornered into now.
