week 1, thursday night

[SO ANYWAY, TODAY WAS KIND OF A THING?? IT SURE WAS A THING]

[but Akira makes sure to invite both Makoto and Minato to his room Thursday night, a few hours before "curfew." safety in numbers seems like their best bet right now. and besides. . . his room is the room with all of the knives]

[which are currently piled together on one of his nightstands, btw]

Makoto, you can have the bed. Minato can take the couch. I'll sleep on the floor.

[justfists]

[she has brought her pillows from her room with her, so there's plenty of pillows?? But also she looks a little thoughtful.]

Maybe there's a better solution than you sleeping on the floor?

[just gives him a look. don't fight her on this, Joker]

[messianic]

[Yeah.... Hm.]

I'm not really that picky... [To be totally honest:] I can sleep pretty much everywhere, so I don't really want to kick you off your own bed or couch...

[Though he agrees Makoto gets the bed.

(Look at all of those knives.)]

[purrtagonist]

[LOOK AT ALL OF THOSE KNIVES]

[and at least Akira and Minato are on the same page re: Makoto taking the bed]

It's okay.

[Akira's hands dip into his pockets, and he shrugs]

I can lay out a few of my pillows like a futon. I'll be fine on the floor.

[justfists]

Don't we need more pillows to do that?

[she sets her pillows down, and taps her finger to her lips, considering the both of them.]

And if we're going to get more pillows anyway... Why don't we do a pillow fort instead?

[messianic]

[omg.]

... I bet we could build a pretty good one. I can grab all of the pillows in my room too.

[purrtagonist]

[blinks at Makoto a bit, surprised that the suggestion came from her, out of the three of them. but then he's smiling, knuckles pressed against his mouth to suppress a laugh]

That's the best suggestion I've heard all night.

week 2, monday

[purrtagonist]

[OKAY, SO. WHAT A MONDAY. lots of things happened! and they're all important things, like the body found in the dining room. but when Akira flags Makoto and Minato down, and gathers them both into his room Monday evening, he isn't looking to discuss bodies]

Did you two have a weird. . . dream? Last night?

[messianic]

Yeah.

[And way too solemnly and easily:]

I dreamed about both of you.

[OH OKAY]

[justfists]

... I dreamed about you both as well.

[purrtagonist]

[he looks. . . well, only momentarily surprised, because in the grand scheme of things? sharing the same dream isn't the weirdest thing that's happened to them]

And I dreamed about you two.

We were in a. . . cafeteria, right?

[messianic]

... Yeah, all in the same uniform.

[Minato draws in a deep breath.]

There's...a lot to process from it. Especially if it's some sort of actual memory.

[justfists]

... Did it end with me asking Akira why there were so many of him?

week 3 thursday

Let's meet near Akira's room in an hour.

[she says to both of them some time after the puzzle from the morning-- but once that's done, when they approach, she's already waiting.]

[purrtagonist]

[CONSIDERING THIS IS AKIRA'S ROOM. . . he is already here, twisting a new combat knife in his hand with precise adeptness. he greets both Makoto and Minato with a two-fingered salute. SUP]

[messianic]

[What up. Minato's there last, and...pauses at Akira's knife.]

New knife or room knife?

[justfists]

[she doesn't seem to mind the knife, at least. Enough that she doesn't comment on it.]

Mm... We should focus.

[gently to Minato. and then to both of them:]

A lot of new information dropped today. We need to decide what to do about it.

[purrtagonist]

Room knife. I find new ones every day.

[that's why his knife pile is so. . . stupidly large. . .]

The stuff about the Barghest and The Outsider, right?

[messianic]

[Yes mom. He'll focus.]

And being able to exorcise the Barghest.... that's really important.

[THERE HAS TO BE A WAY...]

week 4, tuesday

[purrtagonist]

[on Tuesday! Akira is looking for both Minato and Makoto, purposefully herding them together in his room. with the giant pile of knives]

. . . so, how are we doing this week?

[messianic]

[Minato should probably have more to say to that with how much of a trainwreck last weekend was and how this week seems to be shaping up into more of the same BUT... WELL.

He just thumbs up anyway.]

Pretty good. How about you?

[MINATO...]

[justfists]

[she's looking better? for a look of it. At least, she doesn't look exhausted anymore.]

Mmhm.

[she glances at Minato, taking her cue from him]

[THUMBS UP]

There's mistletoe. I'm doing pretty awesomely.

[this is why Akira and Minato get along, sorry Makoto]

[This is getting them nowhere isn't it, sorry Makoto.]

That's true. At least this week is really festive.

[Y...YAY?]

It helps make things less stressful. [Does it really though.]

I don't know how long the festive look will last. The Medic was tearing it all down.

[she's japanese. she doesn't understand christmas vs. hannukah. it seems silly to her.

but also she helped.]
