[for Akira's part, he's like. sitting in a chair next to the door, bobbing one knee up and down anxiously, the fingers of one hand tracing the handle of. . . a kitchen knife. so like, you know]

[She just arrived to the infirmary and it already seems like this will be a loooooong night. Ulaz, do you see this tomfoolery?]

[Since she's going to stay in the infirmary during the night to make sure the teenagers don't get out of their beds to PUT THEMSELVES IN DANGER AGAIN, she brought the Harry Potter collection. Seven books in total, yeah]

I feel more comfortable sharing this kind of content with you all now. True, the existence of magic is something I'd have preferred to keep hidden, but that is a luxury our captors didn't let happen.

[Ichigo wasn't doing the greatest during the day, all cooped up in here with nowhere to go and nothing to do, unable to check on people beyond the ones that came to him.

So when the night falls, he's even worse - though he's found his way to a wheelchair, and is currently just...going back and forth. And back and forth. And back and -

Yeah, he's pacing in the only way he can, which definitely is doing a number on his arms and shoulder, but he doesn't notice the pain. All he notices is his anxiety and worry, choking him like a cloud.

Eventually, he stops - to slam a fist down on the side of the wheelchair's arm rest, tilting his head up and just staring at the ceiling.

The boys are not alright.]

I am accustomed to carrying a blade. I am also in a state to wield it, should it prove necessary.

[ At best, Akira can only claim one of those. ]

[Akira gladly accepts book number one in the series, buuuut McGonagall might notice him ~surreptitiously~ sliding her a book in return. it's title? "Phantom Thieves: Menace or Miracle?"]

[at the sound of Ichigo's fist slamming against the arm rest, Akira glances up from his position at the door. he stops bobbing his knee, tilting his head towards Ichigo in a silent question]

When his gaze comes back down from the ceiling, he just shakes his head, running a hand through his hair for what has to be the fifth time today.]

...Sorry. I'm fine.

[He's not fine, but he'll never verbally admit it.]

[ Ulaz is riveting company as always tonight. He's brought over a hefty stack of paper from the art room, and when he's not otherwise occupied, he's amusing himself by folding paper cranes.

Also probably one or both of the boys is going to need their bandages changed during the night, so that's probably fun??? ]

Do you typically do battle with a kitchen knife?

They do not have much respect for secrets.

[ He's curious about the books' contents, but he'll let the boys have first dibs. They clearly need the distraction more than he does. ]

Though I do not understand why you would wish to keep magic hidden. That serves only to stifle the progression of your society.

[ Did the giant space alien just talk about magic like it's the most normal fucking thing in the universe? HE SURE DID. ]

[Bandages needing to be changed, you say....That's a good idea, because Ichigo's starting to move his fingers towards his face, stopping just short of the bandages covering his left eye before dropping his hand...and then repeating the process over and over, looking obviously uncomfortable. Some of the bandage itself looks a little stained from blood, too.]

...I don't - want to bug you, but...

The bandage over your eye needs to be changed. You may "bug" me after that.

[ That's. A hell of a question, really. He still knows so little about Earth. Shiro never really spoke of it in much detail during his captivity--at least, not to Ulaz--and what little he's gleaned in his time here has been pretty scattered. And also not necessarily always reliable, thanks, Minako.

So, well, let's start with something basic. ]

Are humans the only sentient species on the planet?
