Riiight. So did he have a heroic sacrifice moment, did he change at the last minute, or are his Persona powers pretty terrible so he's not a threat not dangerous anymore.

[that doesn't excuse a single thing Akechi did. doesn't excuse the fact that he killed so many, Futaba's mother and Haru's father being among those victims. it isn't an excuse at all, and Akechi needed to pay for his crimes]

[but when Akira looks back on it. . . thinks back on it. . . Akechi was caught up in a horrible cycle of violence that began because of Shido. Akechi was a killer, but he was one product of a society in which shitty adults did whatever they wanted to whoever the hell they wanted]

It doesn't absolve him, but it's. . . it's complicated.
