[ while he hasn't been hit as hard by the event - memories of marrying futaba's mom at a younger age and helping to raise her since she was eight, in fact - he does remember akira. at least that part of history hasn't changed. ]

[. . . he doesn't realize exactly how much he had wanted to hear Sojiro's voice until it's there, in his head, laced with genuine fatherly concern. he might not be aware that Sojiro isn't 100% with reality right now either, but hey. at least his reality still involves Akira, which is more than what can be said about Futaba, Makoto and Haru]

[ huh. this isn't really a joke he's in the mood to hear. not like he'd get angry at akira for it, of course. this past week has been like walking on pins and needles as it is. ]

It's... rough. The kid is bad. I haven't really ever seen her like that.

[ which should be some sort of hint that his memories aren't right. then again, futaba's never thought she was dead before back home. so maybe it's not the greatest indicator. ]
