[he really should've caught up with Yoshi last night, after hearing Medic's report on the bones and washing the ink and glitter from his hair. but by the time that last thing had been done, it was late. and while Akira is a night person through and through, the events of the past two days have left him wiped. and he isn't against crashing early when necessary]

[. . . and then Monday rolls around, and the morning is a whirlwind, for lack of a better word. new memories, new announcements, new rules about a game in which Akira had absolutely no interest in participating. and amidst it all, after helping his new pal with. . . uh. bleeding eyes, he remembers he never followed up the night before]

[and that is how Akira winds up knocking on Yoshi's room door, sometime around lunchtime after all of the excitement of the morning has passed. 'sup, friend. are you home]

[He is greeted by a drowsy kid once again! Does he ever get enough sleep? Maybe if he didn't stay up all night playing games and also, you know, end up with bleeding eyes and so on.

It's fine. In fact, it's so very fine, Akira is greeted with a sleepy yet still cheerful:]

Hi Akira!

Hey, Yoshi-kun.

Have you. . . slept any?

Yup! It took a while for the headache to stop, but after that I got a good nap.

Now I'm ready to play games all night again!

[YOSHI, PLEASE.]

week 1, saturday post-trial

[there's someone Akira meant to speak with after the investigation yesterday. he's a little late now, he thinks, but. . . better late than never]

[wherever Yoshi may be, Akira eventually flags him down sometime late evening]

Yoshi-kun?

[Yoshi looks up - looks like he's been fiddling with those holographic screens from his BitPhone again.]

What's up?

[The same, usual smile on his face and everything.]

[. . . Akira would admire Yoshi's ability to smile even at times like this if he weren't so certain that smile was born from Yoshi's self-hatred :(]

You look like you bounced back pretty quickly.

Week 2, post-trial

[HEY AKIRA, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT GHOST TEXTS? Because he's sure getting some now.]

[JUMPS out of bed when his tablet dings with that notification, immediately scrambling to read the message]

[before he replies, he looks up and says--]

Week 3, Friday, Post-Investigation

[At some point while Akira's in his room, he will suddenly get a text.]

[It's followed by similar ones, one after another, with increasing speed until there's a thud of something relatively small falling on the side of his bed.]

[Akira doesn't respond in written form, instead sitting up on his bed and speaking--]

[There's a moment of silence before texts resume.]

[the reply is fairly immediate]

the jorogumo possessing rean's body is causing it to deteriorate

i don't think he'll be able to last the whole game

Week 5, Friday, Post-Investigation

Week 5, Saturday, Evening

[ A pad of sticky notes slides under the door. After that, they lift themselves into the air and stick themselves to the wall.

"I tried to stop her but I couldn't do anything again"

And, on several other sticky notes stuck around that first one:

It's my fault she volunteered.
